Disney Crazy!!!

That pretty much sums up my family. When Josh was 8 and Max was 5, we took them to Walt Disney World for the first (and only, or so we thought) time. We had saved for almost two years to afford the trip and went all out. We flew into Orlando, stayed 5 nights at Disney's All Star Sports, spent 6 days in the parks, rented a car and drove to Tampa to see the beaches and flew home. They were in heaven. We really loved the place and wanted to come back SOON, but knew that the $5k that we just spent on vacation was not going to happen again anytime in the foreseeable future.

Fast forward to the next winter, when Andy's company happens to have a convention at WDW. We ended up going for another week, this time only having to buy plane fare and disney tickets for three of us. The company paid for Andy's food and transportation, the Disney room and Andy's tickets. So we went again.
7 months after that, the company sent him there again, and so we went too! This time happened to be over Josh's 10th birthday.

Three trips in 18 months was NUTS, but we LOVE Disney world. Some people hate it, some people just plain love it. We are the LOVE it kind. We figured we would never go again.

So three years have passed since our last trip, and WE ARE GOING BACK. Max really wanted to go for his birthday last January when he turned 10, but we hadn't planned ahead enough and there was no way we could swing it. But we have decided to just scrape together enough to do a trip anyway.

We leave in 95 days.

We are staying 6 nights at Disney's Pop Century Hotel, spending 5 days in the parks and as a new twist, we are driving. My sister, Kate, who lives in Texas, is going to join us for the adventure.

So everyone here is on SCRIMP and SAVE mode. Andy and I worked out the budget last night and we are about $300 short of where we need to be in order to go. That includes all the money we have coming in for the next 95 days, so we are actually planning on taking a trip that we can't afford at this point. I am praying for some intervention here, but if that doesn't work, I am sure the pancakes for dinner and mac and cheese for lunch for the last month before we leave should do it. We have already told the kids that Disney is their Hanukkah and their Christmas gift... so that will help.
