Random thoughts in no particular order.

This past week has been a week of things beginning to fall into place.

School-- we managed to get in two full weeks, so far, most of it without any real complaints, problems or issues. The boys are happy with their subjects and their schedules, and I am managing to stay relaxed and keep our home a loving place to be, on most days.

Activities-- Civil Air Patrol is turning out to be a really great activity for Josh. He spent the weekend directing some car parking at a local apple festival. They put up fences, hung signs, waved flashlights, drank lots of water, moved construction barrels, helped the elderly and had a really good time doing it. Two kids were taken to the hospital, one with a turned ankle and one with low blood sugar. Fortunately, both are okay. Josh loves the camaraderie and is enjoying meeting kids from many walks of life. They are going to be doing it again this weekend!

Josh's oral surgery is tomorrow. Andy took the day off to be with me when I bring him home, in case he has a reaction to the local. Hopefully, he will be pain free and able to move on by the weekend.

I don't know if this is a honeymoon phase or not, but Max has not complained or argued about his schoolwork yet. This is our 5th year homeschooling, and the hardest part has always been dealing with Max's aversion to learning, reading, writing and anything that resembles hard work. For some unknown reason, he has come to the table each morning, sat down, looked at his list of assignments and dug right in. He hasn't broken any pencils, yelled, thrown anything... none of our usual stresses. If this is a honeymoon period, I hope it is an extended one!!

Disney planning is going well. We have our hotel room paid for, are working on finding the best deal on park tickets and planning our meals budget. Only about 80 days to go.

Odyssey of the Mind teams are formed and beginning to meet, starting another season of great teamwork and creativity going again. I am looking forward to the competition, because I think we will have over 100 homeschoolers represented. It is a sight to see when all of the schools/homeschools are sitting in large groups on the gym floor in their matching tshirts. 100 or more shirts that say SE Michigan Homeschool, probably more than any of the schools this year. A wonderful thing to be a part of.

Off to get some schoolwork done.
