looks like diverticulitis. He has lost a lot of blood due to being on blood thinners for his heart. he has had 3 transfusions since friday morning. blood pressure is not yet stable so he is in a step-down unit. looks like the active bleeding has stopped so we just have to get his blood pressure under control and get his hemoglobin to level out. not quite out of the woods yet. then we need to get him from a clear diet to a soft diet to a regular diet with no more episodes of bleeding. time will tell.
