Chaos reigns

Dad was taken to the ER yesterday with pain in his lower right side. We are still waiting to find out if it is gall bladder, appendix or both. It appears like it is both based on the tests they have done so far. He will probably have some kind of surgery in the next 24 hours.

My SIL has finally reached 4cm, although she is not "in labor" and her water has not broken yet. I am anticipating a baby in the next day or two.

Grandma is beside herself with worry for her "baby". Amazing that the level of concern we have for our children doesn't diminish, whether the children are 7 months, 7 years, or 70 years old. She was up half the night worrying.

I am trying to keep some sense of normalcy around here. Fed the kids, did a load of laundry, went to the hospital with Grandma to visit Dad, fed my step-mom some lunch, came home, checked email and returned phone calls. I am headed back to the hospital for a bit.

Good thoughts, prayer, healing vibes and all the rest are a welcome thing at this point.
