Blogging out of frustration

Dad spiked a temp of 103 today. Back to the primary care doctor this afternoon. He had a series of blood tests and then the dr. ordered an echocardiogram for tomorrow and some other tests to see if it is endocarditis causing the fever and nausea. Endocarditis is pretty serious stuff, especially in a stroke patient.

I am frustrated beyond belief that he is suffering and we are seemingly helpless in a world that is full of technology. Nothing seems to be happening quickly enough for me. His primary care doctor sent him home and told him to take fluids and tylenol until tomorrow's test. Tylenol and water. That is the medical professions answer to a 70 year old diabetic, stroke victim, 10 days post colon surgery, patient's 103 fever with unexplained origin. Why can't I rest easy?????
