The Waiting Game

The Odyssey of the Mind competition was this weekend. Our local hs group had 14 teams, about 75 kids all together. We competed at the regional level and ended up sending 4 teams to the State competition in April.

My team however, is waiting. We finished 2nd in our division but don't get to advance due to a rule that requires 75 points AND placing first or second. We are in the appeal process right now. It is a long and complicated story, but suffice it to say the kids and I are all on edge while we wait for people we don't know to decide if we can move forward. We were 6.58 points short of the 75 points..... there was no third place team...... we have to wait until someone lets us know what we do next..... I hate to wait.
